Learn about character development with My Place
To celebrate 2024 Children’s Book Week, the ACTF and ACMI co-presented a virtual workshop with My Place author Nadia Wheatley on 23 August 2024. Nearly 8,500 primary students from across Australia registered for the workshop, with over 110 classrooms connected during the live event.
Through Nadia’s responses, reflection with peers and audience questions, students examined techniques for developing Sofia’s character and story in both the written and screen texts of My Place. Concepts introduced in the workshop are explored further in a new resource, which is hosted on the ACMI website.
Access this free resource here to explore character development across text types.
