Judging commences for the 2022 My Place Competition

Presented by the ACTF, Reading Australia and ABC Education, this year’s My Place Competition received over 900 entries from young writers across the country.

Series spotlight: My Place

With 26 episodes spanning hundreds of years, My Place is one of the most ambitious children’s television series in Australian TV history. Based on the picture book, the TV adaptation has become a timeless classic and left an indelible footprint in educational settings.

The timeless success of My Place

The annual My Place Competition was inspired by the acclaimed TV series. Originally, however, My Place began as a book. Now more than 30 years old, it is still one of Australia’s favourites.

‘Giving space to the voices of the past’: My Place site updated

Curator and writer Jennifer Forest has collaborated with ACTF First Nations Designer April Phillips to update content in the My Place for Teachers decade timeline, aiming to better represent diverse voices from Australia’s past. 

New resource: Writing rubrics

In response to teacher feedback received last year, the ACTF has developed writing rubrics to support students entering the 2022 My Place Competition.
