Australian kids’ series celebrated at awards and festivals around the world

It’s been another great year for Australian children’s shows making their mark around the world.

Australian natural history series Built to Survive (Butter Media) won the 2023 International Emmy Award for Kids: Factual & Entertainment, becoming the first ever Australian program to win in the category. Host Phil Breslin accepted the award at the 2023 International Emmy Awards Gala event held in New York City on 20 November.

Commenting on the win, ACTF Head of Content and Executive Producer Bernadette O’Mahony said: “We love how the children’s jury in Chicago embraced such a distinctive Top End series, and how engaged they were in the adventures of Tomias and Dahlia and Barrumbi Kids.”
