The award-winning live-action drama More Than This will soon be available to stream on ABC iview, with the Australian national broadcaster acquiring the series for its YA slate.
More Than This is the gritty, authentic and often raw story that explores the overwhelming, messy, difficult and beautiful experiences of five teenagers as they navigate contemporary issues that will shape who they are becoming. It was written and created by Olivia Deeble (Little Lunch, Secret Society of Second Born Royals) when she was just 17.
The ABC has also relicensed Gristmill’s live-action detective comedy The Inbestigators for another three years.
In other sales finalised by the ACTF international distribution team in recent weeks, the heartwarming family feature film Windcatcher will air in Canada after being acquired by APTN (Aboriginal People’s Television Network), while the Finnish Broadcasting Company (Finland) has relicensed Kangaroo Beach Series 1.
Meanwhile, two of the ACTF’s legacy projects Spellbinder (Series 1 and 2) and The Girl from Tomorrow (Series 1, 2 and the telemovies) will air in Bangladesh, after being acquired by SRK.
Spellbinder (1995) and The Girl from Tomorrow (1990-91) have large fanbases in Bangladesh and have been relicensed several times over the last three decades, but this will be the first time either series has aired in the country since 2010.
