Youth Advisory Groups: Provide direct advice to government in 2024

Applications are now open for the Albanese Government’s 2024 Youth Advisory Groups, ensuring young people have input on the policies and programs impacting them.

Minister for Youth Dr Anne Aly said the Youth Advisory Groups are an important part of ensuring young people are heard and respected right across government.

“Young people have valuable insights and perspectives, we know that by working with them we can deliver a better future for all of us,” Dr Aly said.

“No experience is required to be a member of one of the advisory groups, I encourage young people from all backgrounds to apply and take advantage of this unique opportunity.”

The five new advisory groups will be made up of up to eight young people each from diverse backgrounds, with all states and territories represented along with regional, rural, and remote areas of Australia.

The five 2024 Youth Advisory Group topics are:

  • Civic Engagement
  • Creative Industries
  • Employment
  • First Nations Education
  • Prevention of Gender-Based Violence
