Synopsis

Wacky World Beaters is a kids factual series featuring two highly-competitive, slightly zany hosts, who set off on a global discovery tour of wacky competitions.

Their mission? To find the world’s ultimate wacky sport! In this hilarious, action-packed series, Amberley and Gilly compete against the world’s best - and each other - while uncovering amazing people, culture and history wherever they go.

Bog Snorkelling Championships
Amberley and Gilly are in Wales for the World Bog Snorkelling Championships, an annual event that attracts hundreds of competitors from all over the world. It promises to be cold and muddy, but will it be weird enough to be named the world’s wackiest sport?

Episode 2
Worthing Birdman Rally
Amberley and Gilly are in England for the Worthing Birdman Rally - an annual event that sees dozens of batty birdpeople hurl themselves off a ten-metre-high platform into the ocean. You’d have to be crazy to do it, but is it weird enough to be named the world’s wackiest sport?

Episode 3
Nagasaki Speed Eating Competition
Amberley and Gilly are in Japan to compete in the Nagasaki Speed Eating Competition, where competitors chow down on curry and soup in record time. The menu’s fairly standard but the contest is definitely not… will it be weird enough to be named the world’s wackiest sport?

Episode 4
Ludwigsburg Pumpkin Regatta
Amberley and Gilly are in Germany, on their way to compete in the Ludwigsburg Pumpkin Regatta, where crazy competitors from across the globe race around a picturesque fountain in GIANT PUMPKINS! It looks like something out of a fairy tale, but is it the wackiest event ever?

Sport Stacking Asian Open
Amberley and Gilly are in Thailand to compete in the annual Sport Stacking Asian Open, where junior competitors from all over the world stack cups at lightning speed. It’s a showcase of super speedy skills, but will it be crazy enough to be named the world’s wackiest sport?

World Gravy Wrestling Championships
Amberley and Gilly are in England, where busting wrestling moves is a fun thing to do - IN A POOL OF COLD GRAVY! It’s the World Gravy Wrestling Championships and it looks like it could be their messiest match yet. But, is it zany enough to be named the world’s wackiest sport?

Birnam Highland Games
GREAT SCOTS! Amberley and Gilly are in Scotland to compete in the Birnam Highland Games. This wacky event showcases quirky Scottish sports and looks like something from the history books. But, is it oddball enough to be named the world’s wackiest competition?

South Korean Dakssaum Championships
Amberley and Gilly are in South Korea, where a one-legged hopping game, invented in the playground has become a championship sport. It's fun, it's fierce, but is it one of the world's wackiest sports? They’re about to find out as they go hopping mad ­- it's Dakssaum time!

Air Guitar World Championships
Amberley and Gilly are in Finland for a competition that is COMPLETELY OFF THE CHARTS CRAZY. It’s the Air Guitar World Championships, where they’ll take to the stage to mime like glam-rock stars. It’s an amazing musical spectacular, but is it the wackiest event ever?

Tokyo Dog Grooming Championships
Amberley and Gilly are in Japan to get funky with fur, in a competition that attracts some of the world's proudest pet lovers - Tokyo’s Extreme Dog Grooming Championships! It’s a prestigious contest if you’re a doggy supermodel, but is it the wackiest competition ever?

Taichung City Foam Race
It looks like someone left the bath running, but this is actually a race of epic, frothy proportions! Amberley and Gilly are about to get their soapy sprint on in Taiwan, home of the Taichung City Foam Race! It's fast and foamy, but is it one of the world's wackiest contests?

UK Onion Eating Championships
Amberley and Gilly are in England to chow down and get their chomp on for the UK ONION EATING CHAMPIONSHIPS, which attract people from all over the UK. It’s fast and furious, with a bitter aftertaste - but is it one of the world's wackiest contests, and could it all end in tears?

Dapu Creative Bike Race
Amberley and Gilly are in Taiwan to find out what you get when you cross the Tour De France with a fashion parade. The DAPU CREATIVE BIKE RACE of course… its part procession, part performance, part party on pedals! It’s totally unique, but is it the world's wackiest contest?

World Gurning Championships
Amberley and Gilly are in Cumbria, Northern England and things are about to get ugly! It's THE WORLD GURNING CHAMPIONSHIPS - an ugly face contest and quite possibly one of the world's wackiest events ever. Can it face up to the competition and win a golden Farty Marty?

World Black Pudding Throwing Championships
Every year in Ramsbottom, England people gather in the street to chuck a sausage at a stack of pastries on a tower. It’s the World Black Pudding Throwing Championships and Ambo and Gilly are about to find out if it’s weird enough to be named the world’s wackiest sport.

Episode 16
Taekwondo Dance Competition
Amberley and Gilly are in Korea to dance their way into history at the Korean Taekwondo Dance Competition. It’s dancing, but not as you know it... an amazing mix of martial arts and synchronised dancing. But, is it weird enough to be named the world’s wackiest competition?

Episode 17
Egremont Pole Climbing Competition
Amberley and Gilly are in Egremont, England, where people gather annually to race to the top of a massive pole! Is this contest weird enough to be named the world’s wackiest sport? They’re about to find out, as they reach for the sky at the Egremont Pole Climbing Competition.

Belgium Regatta of Bathtubs
Amberley and Gilly are in Belgium to race bathtubs down a river in an event that's part-parade, part-race! It’s the Belgium Regatta Of Bathtubs and it attracts the world’s kookiest sailors - but is it the wackiest event ever? They’re about to find out in a paddle to the finish.

Episode 19
World Haggis Eating Championships
Amberley and Gilly are in Scotland to compete in the World Haggis Eating Championships, where competitors chow down on the Scottish pudding full of animal hearts, lungs and livers, wrapped up in stomach lining. It’s a race to the finish - could it be the wackiest event ever?

The Best Of Wacky World Beaters
After an extraordinary season travelling the globe, and entering all manner of wacky competitions, Amberley and Gilly scrub up to host the prestigious Wacky World Beater Awards. It’s a hilarious recap of the series, but which will be named the world's ultimate wacky contest?
