Meet our newest team members
The ACTF believes that locally produced screen stories hold great educational, social and cultural value for Australian children. To highlight the curriculum relevance of ACTF-supported content and to assist teachers in incorporating screen texts in the classroom, the ACTF Learning team develops resources and events that engage learners in viewing, analysing and creating screen stories in the classroom and beyond. The ACTF is very pleased to have Zoe McDonald and Kaede Miyamura now contributing to this work.
Zoe joins the ACTF in the role of Digital Learning Specialist and will be focussed on updating the functionality and appearance of our online resource catalogue. Zoe has a background in comedy and comedy writing, holds a Master of Screenwriting, and prides herself on being an original fan of Round the Twist!
Stepping across from a previous administrative position within the ACTF, Kaede will now be working as our Education and Communications Coordinator. Kaede’s family immigrated from Japan when she was seven, and she grew up bilingual in Australia. She credits many ACTF-supported programs on ABC ME (then ABC 3) with helping her to learn English! Having graduated from a filmmaking degree last year, we are very proud to share that Kaede won the Emerging Filmmaker prize for her graduate film – Kotoba – at this year’s Multicultural Film Festival in Melbourne.
The team looks forward to collaborating on many exciting projects together in Term 4 and beyond. We invite you to follow our newsletter, reach out for support and partnerships, and to join us on your 2024 school year journey.
