Round the Twist exhibit open in Melbourne

Whacky props and hand-drawn storyboards from the iconic children’s television series Round the Twist are on display at Australia’s national museum of screen culture in Melbourne.

The display is part of ACMI’s free, centrepiece exhibition, the Story of the Moving Image, which celebrates key moments in moving image culture and history that have shaped who we are, how we see ourselves and how the world sees us.

The exhibition will feature the much-loved series for the next two years, displaying visual effect storyboards, props including the Viking Book of Love and dolls from the Season 3 episode ‘Toy Love’, and clips and stills from the series. Two AFI Awards for the series are also on display.

Round the Twist is a funny, fantastical series chronicling the supernatural adventures of a family living in a lighthouse. The iconic show entertained generations of Australian kids, and children in 156 other territories.

We are proud to care for these items for the next two years and share them with visitors in our free, centrepiece exhibition, The Story of the Moving Image. These items also complement the experience visitors can have re-making foley sounds for excerpts from Round The Twist in ACMI's Foley Room.”
