The Inbestigators heads to France Télévisions

The beloved live-action comedy series The Inbestigators has been acquired by France’s national public broadcaster, France Télévisions.

Produced by Gristmill for the ABC and Netflix, The Inbestigators follows the adventures of Ezra, Maudie, Ava and Kyle – four Grade Five students who form a detective agency run from Ezra’s backyard shed and work together to crack puzzling cases around school and the neighbourhood.

Since premiering, The Inbestigators has become a standout success, winning a legion of loyal fans all over the globe. In addition to the worldwide SVOD rights held by Netflix, the series has also been sold to linear broadcasters in territories including the USA, UK, Canada, Spain, Israel, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Its arrival on France Télévisions marks an exciting new chapter in the program’s international journey.

Claire Heinrich, Head of Acquisitions, Children & Youth Department at France Télévisions said: “We love the camaraderie between the disparate group of friends in The Inbestigators. As they build their detective agency together, they learn how to work together and build their friendship group. We know that children in France will want to be part of the gang!”

ACTF Head of Content Bernadette O’Mahony said:The Inbestigators is a ground-breaking procedural comedy for kids, a funny and unique take on the mystery genre. It has been a huge hit right across the world, and I know children watching France Télévisions are going to fall in love with Maudie, Ezra, Ava and Kyle and the outrageous mysteries they solve together.”

The Inbestigators is a series from Gristmill, made with the support of Screen Australia and Vicscreen for the ABC and Netflix. The Australian Children’s Television Foundation distributes The Inbestigators worldwide.
