After viewing Windcatcher, invite students to write from the perspective of a film critic for an online publication. Students could write, voice record or video record their brief review. They should begin the review by introducing the film, including the title, release date, and background information. In the body of the review, students should describe and comment on the effectiveness of the:

  • acting
  • setting
  • plot
  • special effects.

Ask students to include an image from the film (or a drawing representing it), then finish the review with a rating out of 5. Students could share their work with peers through a ‘gallery walk’ in the classroom.
