1878: Henry
Despite one failed invention after another, young Henry knows in his heart that he’s a brilliant inventor. Against the advice of his friend, Franklin, Henry conducts his biggest experiment ever… but succeeds only in blowing up the local schoolhouse. Expelled, Henry continues to believe there’s a living to be made from inventing weird and wonderful labour-saving machines. But his machines cause more trouble than they’re worth, and after one of them goes berserk - wrecking Franklin’s family’s laundry business - Henry becomes an outcast. A near-tragedy in Franklin’s family gives Henry the opportunity to try one last experiment to save the day… but can he get it to work?

New and Improved
The Leonard family prepare for their second year in Angelus. While Phillip looks forward to starting high school one year early, Lockie has bigger reservations about what the New Year will bring. Namely, if it will include Vicki Streeton, his girlfriend - he thinks.

SATURDAY: You’re Skitting Me – Series 3 on ABC iView


Australian sketch comedy You're Skitting Me returns for a third series. Performed by a new feature cast of teens, You're Skitting Me is an edgy mix of animations and great characters that will tickle everyone’s funny bone.

The series introduces regular characters such The Ultra Boy, The Unwrapping Guy, Young Shakespeare, Martine The Sick Bay Monitor, Child Lawyer - Roland McAllister, clueless Amanda Coyne and The Green Team. Animations are also a popular feature of the series, with characters such as Iron Man, and chats between emoticons, flies, and school bags. Nothing is too absurd! 

 

SUNDAY: Ready For This on ABC iView

Set in inner city Sydney, Ready for This is the story of six teenagers, all elite within their own field, each with a different agenda and different dreams.

They have come together, to live at Arcadia House. For some, it’s the opportunity of a lifetime, for others, it’s a last chance. In order to survive the year, the six strangers must find a path through new challenges and adventures. A long way from home, the last thing they expect to find is family.

Written by Craig Silvey and illustrated by Sara Acton, the novel Runt was published in 2022 and was named the 2023 Book of the Year for Younger Readers by the Children’s Book Council of Australia. Australian schools will soon have the chance to enjoy this story on screen.

ACTF welcomes additional funding and new Board member

It has been an eventful month for the Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF) with the announcement of additional funding, a meeting with the federal Minister for the Arts, and a new Board member appointed by the Federal Government.
