Series spotlight: My Place

With 26 episodes spanning hundreds of years, My Place is one of the most ambitious children’s television series in Australian TV history. Based on the picture book, the TV adaptation has become a timeless classic and left an indelible footprint in educational settings.

The annual My Place Competition was inspired by the acclaimed TV series. Originally, however, My Place began as a book. Now more than 30 years old, it is still one of Australia’s favourites.

2021 My Place Competition: Read the Winning Entries

Participating students approached this year’s My Place Competition theme of diverse histories in creative ways. Some students shared First Nations stories, some focussed on migrant groups that have shaped their communities, and others delved into family histories.
