Point of view (POV) refers to the perspective from which a scene or story is presented, providing the audience with the viewpoint of a specific character. POV influences the audience's perception — creating an experience that immerses them in the character's thoughts, emotions, and the unfolding narrative.
Ask students to reflect on the bushfire scene in the film, recalling the different emotions and actions of the various characters involved. In Windcatcher, viewers experience the fire from Percy Boy’s perspective. Another character’s POV would give the audience access to different thoughts, emotions and information.
