The behind-the-scenes video below includes interviews with Director Tanith Glynn-Maloney, Writer Boyd Quakawoot and several adult and child actors from the film.  

Give each student one sticky note before viewing the clip as a class. Ask students to pay attention to the intentions expressed by the director, writer and actors, then write one observation on their sticky note.  

After viewing, come together as a class to read and reflect on students’ observations.  

• What did they learn about the filmmakers’ purpose, including their intentions for audience responses?  
• Do these align with how students experienced the film as audience members?
• What was interesting or surprising to learn?
