First Ever Trop Jr Roughcut Symposium Announced!

Following in the footsteps of Tropfest's famous filmmaking symposium, Trop Jr Roughcut is a filmmaking forum for budding young talent to learn from the industry's best.

In 2012, Tropfest established Roughcut, a filmmaking symposium designed to cultivate outstanding storytelling on screen. Now, in 2013, Trop Jr is excited to launch the inaugural Trop Jr Roughcut, designed to inspire and engage the next generation of successful Australian filmmakers.

Held in Melbourne (1 August) and Sydney (8 August), each event will be a day-long series of conversations exploring creativity and collaboration. Featuring a diverse line up of speakers, all of whom have significantly contributed to the Australian film community, each session will focus on a different aspect of the filmmaking process.

Trop Jr Roughcut presents a fantastic opportunity for young filmmakers to learn from the industry’s best in an intimate and engaging environment. Trop Jr Roughcut is targeted at students in years 5-10 (ages 9-15) and will encourage kids to explore filmmaking with confidence and creativity.

...Keep an eye on the ACTF's Trop Jr Roughcut pages for for the latest industry speaker announcements and information about how to register your child or school.

The ACTF is a major supporting partner of Tropfest Jr and Trop Jr Roughcut.
