Little Lunch App Competition Winners

Thank you for all your wonderful entries in the Little Lunch App Competition. We are excited to announce JACK'S LITTLE LUNCH from Woolowin, Queensland has won first prize!

Primary classrooms across the country spent much of term two taking inspiration from the Little Lunch TV series and books as part of the Little Lunch App Competition. Students were storyboarding, developing plots, working out interesting characters, experimenting with filming techniques and becoming experts with the Little Lunch movie-making App.

The final judging of the competition was carried out by Heidi Arena (Mrs. Gonsha) from the Little Lunch TV show. Heidi was immensely impressed with the thought and effort that was put into the scripts, acting and camera techniques.

The winners were announced September 8th in a live webinar with the finalist schools. The winners are as follows:

  • 1st Place: Wooloowin State School QLD - Jack's Little Lunch

  • 2nd Place: Wooloowin State School QLD - Johnny's Little Lunch

  • 3rd Place: St Joseph's Catholic Primary School Pinjarra WA - Oscar and Katelyn's Little Lunch

Amy Gartside, the Year 5 teacher at Wooloowin State School, summed up the benefit of her students involvement in the competition as, “The children absolutely loved using the Little Lunch App. It was a great tool for them to be able to work in a team to write a script. While filming, they developed skills in collaboration, negotiation, problem-solving and creativity. We all really enjoyed the whole process.”

All Little Lunch App Competition entries are available to view at the official competition Vimeo page. Thank you for all the entries, and congratulations on the Little Lunch App winners!
